The results continue to provide encouraging indications of new clusters of kimberlite pipes. The program of reconnaissance drilling is continuing.

Sampling Program

Two reverse circulation drills on kimberlite K-14 have encountered some operational problems which have delayed somewhat the collection of a larger sample from this kimberlite. Another rig is drilling larger-diameter core holes and rotary holes on kimberlite K-91 to collect a mini-bulk sample of about 40 tonnes. Analytical Results

Analyses by dense media separation of samples weighing 3.55 tonnes from six core drill holes on kimberlite K-5 recovered no diamonds. On the other hand, analysis of a sample of 4.0 tonnes from a pit on K-5 has recovered 0.027 carat CARAT, weights. A carat is a weight equal to three and one-sixth grains, in diamonds, and the like. Jac. L. Dict. See Weight.  of diamonds greater than 0.8 millimetre in maximum dimension. The greatest dimensions of the three largest stones are 1.67, 1.24 and 1.20 millimetres. Although the diamond content of the sample is low, it is of interest because of the very large size of kimberlite K-5 and leaves open the possibility that some portion of the kimberlite may have higher counts.
