Dr. David S. Robertson, Chairman of the Board of Ashton Mining of Canada Inc. ("Ashton" or the "Corporation"), is pleased to welcome Mr. Pierre B. Lebel and Mr. David H. Watkins to the Board of Directors effective Monday, February 14, 2005.

Dr. Robertson also announces the retirement of Mr. David C. Davenport from the Board of Directors effective Friday, February 11, 2005. Mr. Davenport was appointed a Director in 1993, concurrent with Ashton's initial public offering. His knowledge, insight and diligence have contributed greatly to the Corporation's advancement over the past 12 years.
