Ashkenazy acquires mall. (Retail New York).


Ashkenazy Acquisition Corp., a national owner and operator of commercial and retail real estate, has acquired the Bay Harbor Mall, a 300,000-SF shopping facility in Lawrence, NY.

Ashkenazy purchased the Bay Harbor Mall, which is ideally located on the major traffic routes in the Five Towns of Long Island, from Leucadia National Leucadia National Corporation (traded on the New York Stock Exchange as LUK) is a holding company that, through its subsidiaries, engages in mining & drilling services, telecommunications, healthcare services, manufacturing, banking and lending, real estate, and winery businesses  Corporation for $30 million. Ashkenazy Acquisition Corp. was founded in 1987 and operates more than three million SF of retail and office property throughout the United States. The purchase of the Bay Harbor Mall is part of a two-year plan to acquire $1 billion in premiere commercial and retail assets throughout the nation. As part of this effort, Ashkenazy recently acquired the three flagship Barney's stores in New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
, Chicago and Beverly Hills.

Ashkenazy will enhance the physical infrastructure of the Bay Harbor Mall, further positioning it to take advantage of its location at the juncture of the Rockaway Turnpike and the Nassau Expressway.

Ashkenazy now owns three of four corners of the highest-volume intersection on the South Shore of Long Island, including a strip center, which is located directly across the street from the Bay Harbor Mall and which houses a 7-11, a bagel store, a bank and a free-standing cinema.
