Ashdown leads fundraising tour.


Bishop David Ashdown will be leading an eight-day tour of the diocese of Keewatin in July that will also generate a charitable donation tax receipt for participants. The tour begins July 9 in Kenora with a dinner cruise on Lake of the Woods Lake of the Woods, 1,485 sq mi (3,846 sq km), c.70 mi (110 km) long, on the U.S.-Canada border in the pine forest region of N Minn., SE Man., and SW Ont. More than two thirds of the lake is in Canada.  hosted by the dean of Keewatin. It continues on to Sioux Lookout, Kingfisher kingfisher, common name for members of the family Alcedinidae, essentially tropical and subtropical land birds, with affinities to trogons and swifts and related to the hornbill.  Lake, Muskrat muskrat, North American aquatic rodent. The common muskrats, species of the genus Ondatra, are sometimes called by their Native American name, musquash.  Dam, Bearskin Lake and ends in Kenora on July 17 with dinner at the bishop's residence. The tour includes visits with aboriginal communities, a mini-gospel jamboree on Sunday, July 13, a visit with students enrolled in an Anglican indigenous theology course at the Dr. William Winter
