Ashanti Goldfields Shared Dividend Plan - Final Dividend 1997.


NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 27, 1998--Ashanti Goldfields n. 1. A small slender woolly annual (Lasthenia chrysostoma) with very narrow opposite leaves and branches bearing solitary golden-yellow flower heads; it grows from Southwestern Oregon to Baja California and Arizona; - it is often cultivated.  Company Limited announces that under its Share Dividend Plan, 318,599 new ordinary shares were issued to members who elected e·lect

1. To select by vote for an office or for membership.

2. To pick out; select: elect an art course.
 to receive shares instead of cash in respect of the final dividend for 1997 of US$.075 per share paid on 27 May 1998.

These shares represent 38.5 per cent of the value of the dividend paid and increase the total issued share capital to 109,338,100 ordinary shares. Dealings in the new shares commenced today.

As a result of a share dividend election by the Government of Ghana Ghana, country, Africa
