Asera, Inc. today announced that Anil Nori, chief technology officer and co-founder of Asera, will speak at the Business Intelligence Special Interest Group (SIG) event held at the Lucie Stern Center in Palo Alto, California. The event will be held today at 6:30 p.m., and is open to the public.

Nori will be giving a presentation entitled "Enabling the Real-Time Enterprise," and will focus on the requirements for, and the realities of, a real-time enterprise; and, the description of a services-oriented, process-based business process management (BPM) architecture for a real-time enterprise.

The Business Intelligence SIG is a forum for discussing new ways for companies to improve their performance by analyzing and exploiting information. Discussions and talks range from industry and process trends, to the software tools that enable operational changes and the issues that arise from these changes.

Nori is responsible for leading Asera's overall technology vision, strategy and direction. Prior to co-founding Asera, Nori was an architect for Oracle8 and Oracle8i, Oracle Object-Relational and Extensible Technologies, Internet, multi-media DBMS development, and XML technologies. He also served on Oracle's Corporate Architecture Review Board. Nori brings extensive product strategy, architecture, design, implementation, and planning experience to Asera.

Before joining Oracle, Nori was architect for Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) RDB-related products. He was involved in the development of centralized and distributed DBMS products for high-end, scalable and reliable environments.

Nori holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and an M.S. in Computer Science. Additionally, he has done research at Computer Corporation of America, a premier database research company. He is an active member of the database research community having chaired sessions, published papers and presented tutorials at ACM SIGMOD (Management of Data), VLDB (Very Large Database) and IEEE Data Engineering conferences.
