Ascend unveils Pipeline 50 HX for high speed ISDN telecommuting, Internet, and home user access.


ALAMEDA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 7, 1994--Ascend Communications announced Monday its first product targeted directly at the individual telecommuter A person who telecommutes. See telecommuting.  and single-user Internet access market.

Unlike competitive products that provide a reduced function-set for the single-user, the Pipeline 50 HX is a full-function bridge and 1P router.

Like Ascend's Pipeline 50, the Pipeline 50 HX integrates all of the functions into a single modem-sized box: Ethernet to ISDN ISDN

The Pipeline family (over a dozen models) provides a flexible access for home, branch, regional and central sites. Ascend's any-to-any connectivity provides solutions for ISDN BRI, ISDN PRI, T1, Switch 56, and analog support through Ascend digital modems.
