The two new channel services programs -- Authorized Service Provider An Authorized Service Provider (ASP) is a third party person that has been cleared to work on a product that is still under warranty by another company without voiding the warranty.  (ASP) and Advantage Reseller Partner (ARP) -- position Ascend's worldwide channel partners to offer a comprehensive set of technical support, education, and professional and technical services.

The ASP program positions resellers to sell their own "brand" of services, and the ARP program enables resellers to resell Ascend global services. Both programs are backed by Ascend's GIS division and make it easier for customers to implement Ascend's next-generation public network solutions through a single, seamless business partner.

"This channel services program opens up new business opportunities for our channel partners and positions them to provide comprehensive, end-to-end services," said Scott Thompson

Under the new program structure, Ascend's channel partners can continue to add value locally and strengthen customer relations through all phases of the network's lifecycle -- regardless of the program selected. For customers, Ascend's ASP and ARP channel service programs assure that services are available globally, whether they purchase directly from Ascend or a channel partner.

"Ascend's new Global Channel Services program now provides resellers with a more robust suite of services from which to select. As a result, Authorized Service Providers will enjoy wider opportunities to sell complete solutions into key targeted markets," said Richard Dean Richard Dean (1956 - December 27 2006) was an athlete, model and photographer, most known for co-hosting, Cover Shot, a television makeover show, on the American cable TV network TLC. , senior analyst with International Data Corporation's Network Support and Integration Services research program.

Authorized Service Provider Program

As part of the ASP program, partners sell their own "brand" of service and support options, including technical support, diagnostics, maintenance and hardware replacement to customers.
