Asante Health System Selects Park City Solutions Provider Portal; emPOWERnet to Provide a Single View into ALL Clinical Information for Physicians who Practice at Asante Health System.

ATLANTA & MEDFORD, Ore. -- Park City Solutions (PCS (1) (Personal Communications Services) Refers to wireless services that emerged after the U.S. government auctioned commercial licenses in 1994 and 1995.  and northern California counties, announced the decision to upgrade Asante's current physician portal (privately labeled by Asante as "Asante md") and fully implement PCS' emPOWERnet(TM) Provider Portal throughout Asante's health care network.

Asante will use Park City's Provider Portal to integrate its disparate systems and to provide a single view into all relevant patient demographic and clinical data for 400 physicians and 1,500 office staff. Mark J. Hetz, Vice President of Information and Guest Services for Asante Health System, said, "To accomplish our strategic goals, Asante needed to find a vendor that could produce a quality product, within our time frame, at a reasonable cost. Expertise in integration to our current systems was a key factor, and flexibility is essential - as the needs of physicians and staff tend to change over time. Product features had to include a very intuitive user interface, electronic signature, a single sign-on to all key physician functions, and robust security. Our new physician access application has to exceed the standards already set by our existing physician portal. After our successful experience implementing Park City Solutions' Electronic Greaseboard for our Emergency Department, we have concluded that Park City Solutions fulfills our requirements."

Park City's emPOWERnet(TM) Provider Portal provides a comprehensive solution that enables physicians and other care givers to access complete longitudinal patient information from the hospital, the office, home, or virtually anywhere via a secure Internet connection using a desktop computer, a laptop, or a wireless hand-held PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) A handheld computer for managing contacts, appointments and tasks. It typically includes a name and address database, calendar, to-do list and note taker, which are the functions in a personal information manager (see PIM).  device. With a multitude of proven interfaces to legacy applications, emPOWERnet(TM) can link all existing pertinent information currently available in multiple systems and present it to physicians through a single sign-on and single user interface that provides a customized view for each physician.

"Healthcare providers have been waiting a long time for a product that will integrate patient information from multiple source systems, and make this information available in real-time to care givers from any location," says Ken Rardin, President, and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  for Park City Solutions. "I believe our emPOWERnet(TM) suite of healthcare applications is the foundation technology to connect the healthcare enterprise, both inside and outside the walls of the hospital."
