Asante Appoints Dr. YC Wang to CTO, Senior Vice President of Engineering.

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Asante Networks Inc. (OTC:ASTN) today announced Dr. YC Wang has been appointed to the position of Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Engineering.

John Hwang, CEO of Asante Networks, made the announcement, commenting, "Dr. Wang is a veteran of the computer networking industry. Having been with Asante for over 10 years, Dr. Wang has extensive knowledge on Asante's technology, products, markets, and customers. Under Dr. Wang's leadership, we will initiate an aggressive effort to expand Asante's product line-up by launching a series of innovative products."

Dr. Wang joined Asante in 1995 and most recently served as Asante's Director of Software Engineering. He has over 20 years experience in the area of software engineering and networking. Prior to Asante, he was a co-founder of Network Application Technology and held various engineering positions at Suntek International and Amdahl Corporation.

Dr. Wang holds a bachelor's degree in Mathematics from National Taiwan University in Taiwan and a PhD in Mathematics from University of Wisconsin at Madison, Wisconsin.
