It has advanced traffic control based on L2-L7 data of incoming frames. The IntraCore 38480 supports jumbo frames up to 9k per frame, best for use with multi-media applications and network storage. With additional features such as CoS and IEEE 802.1p IEEE 802.1p is a standard that provides traffic class expediting and dynamic multicast filtering. Essentially, it provides a mechanism for implementing Quality of Service (QoS) at the MAC (Media Access Control) level.  traffic prioritization, applications such as VoIP can pass traffic with minimal latency.

Asante also offers an optional DC backup power supply that ensures continued operation in situations of primary power failure. Used with the backup power supply, the IntraCore 38480 can ensure high productivity and extremely low downtime on mission critical networks.
