A STUNNING goal in the third minute of added time from Derek Asamoah Derek Asamoah (born 1 May 1981) is an Ghanaian professional footballer. Having forged a career in English football, he currently plays for French club OGC Nice. He is a skilful striker, and is also capable of playing on the wing.  earned Chester their second victory in four day to give the club a massive boost in their fight to avoid relegation.

City dominated the majority of the proceedings in a goalless first half. Asamoah brought out an excellent save from the Macc keeper, and Gregg Blundell fired tamely wide.

Chester opened their account five minutes into the second period. Dave Artell crossed from the left and Blundell delivered a pinpoint knockback to Asamoah who drilled the ball home from six yards.

The visitors equalised after 75 minutes when substitute Kevin Townson headed home from close range, but Chester's deserved winner came in the final minute of added time.

Sean Hessey delivered a cross on the left and Asamoah fired home from the edge of the area.

After the match Wright was full of praise for the in-form Asamoah.

"I asked him beforehand if he could give me a goal, and he said yes. Derek is on fire and when he is playing like that is a very valuable asset," he said.
