BMS will begin operation on April 1, 2007, incorporated under Shanghai municipal regulatory provisions which enable a foreign-owned regional headquarters to perform business management operations without first functioning as a holding company for investments in China. Ten Asahi Kasei Group companies are located in China, with operations largely centered on manufacturing for export.
