Asahi Kasei Chemicals Wins Orders for Membrane Bioreactor Wasterwater Treatment Plants in China.Tokyo, Japan, Sept 1, 2005 - (JCNN JCNN Japan Corporate News Network ) - Asahi Kasei Chemicals announced on August 31 that it has received two orders for constructing wastewater treatment plants Wastewater treatment plant also called wastewater treatment works
The company will set up the membrane bioreactor-based treatment plants for China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (SINOPEC) and a joint venture operated by China National Offshore Oil (CNOOC CNOOC China National Offshore Oil Corporation ) and the Shell Group. The plant for SINOPEC will have a processing capacity of 10,800 tons per day while the plant for CNOOC/Shell will be able to process 25,000 tons of wastewater per day. Both plants will go operational spring 2006. Use of membrane bioreactors will allow the plants to be downsized, treat water in a more advanced manner and to maintain water treatment operations easily.
