Asahi Glass to Fully Withdraw from Domestic CRT Glass Production.


Tokyo, Japan, Oct 5, 2005 - (JCNN JCNN Japan Corporate News Network ) - Asahi Glass decided to stop operations of a CRT (1) (C RunTime) See runtime library.

In addition, the business has deteriorated partly due to a drop in the glass price as well as a hike in material cost, forcing the company to halt productions at one panel furnace and one funnel furnace at its Korean subsidiary this September.

CRT panel and funnel productions will continue in Southeast Asia Southeast Asia, region of Asia (1990 est. pop. 442,500,000), c.1,740,000 sq mi (4,506,600 sq km), bounded roughly by the Indian subcontinent on the west, China on the north, and the Pacific Ocean on the east. , China, Korea, and Taiwan.

This movement will generate an extraordinary loss of approx. 10 billion yen for the year ending December 2005.
