The Sony Building, designed by Japanese architect Yoshinobu Ashihara and opened in 1966 in Tokyo's Ginza ward, Chūō-ku; is a superb example of early at 550 Madison Avenue Madison Avenue, celebrated street of Manhattan, borough of New York City. It runs from Madison Square (23d St.) to the Madison Bridge over the Harlem River (138th St.). In the 1940s and 50s, some of the major U.S. (above) and the NYU NYU New York University NYU New York Undercover (TV show) Dormitory at 1 Union Square West. At the Sony Building, LZA Technology designed special attachment methods for the temporary 60-by-30-ft cold air inflatable Spiderman. For the installation in Union Square, LZA Technology had to develop a method of attaching Spiderman that was secure under wind loads, was fast to install, did not damage the building and that was removable after his departure. |
