As the Lower East Side's luxury condominium Blue nears completion of its concrete superstructure, its distinctive shape begins to reveal itself with its oblique columns and floor slabs. Bernard Tschumi, the building's architect, designed a 22-foot cantilever extending over the southern edge of the building foot print allowing for larger floor plates on the upper floors. The 32-apartment condo is scheduled to top off in May. Blue's developers, Angelo Cosentini and John Carson, who began their partnership in 1982, specialize in developing high-end residential condominiums. The pair have completed a number of New York City projects in the past three years, among them The Atalanta at 25 North Moore St., 637 Hudson St., 58 Thomas St. and, in Brooklyn, Rose Hall.
