As of June 27, GRUPO TACA Introduces Its New Route to Central America: Boston-El Salvador-Costa Rica.

All is set for the inauguration of GRUPO TACA's new flight from Boston, Mass., to Costa Rica Costa Rica (kŏs`tə rē`kə), officially Republic of Costa Rica, republic (2005 est. pop. 4,016,000), 19,575 sq mi (50,700 sq km), Central America. , with a stop in El Salvador El Salvador (ĕl sälväthōr`), officially Republic of El Salvador, republic (2005 est. pop. 6,705,000), 8,260 sq mi (21,393 sq km), Central America. .

With this new route, GRUPO TACA Grupo Taca is the flag airline of El Salvador, comprised of a group of five combined Central American airlines. The company is owned by the Kriete family of San Salvador. Originally an acronym of Transportes Aéreos Centroamericanos  -- a leading airline in Latin America Latin America, the Spanish-speaking, Portuguese-speaking, and French-speaking countries (except Canada) of North America, South America, Central America, and the West Indies.  -- has now nine gateways out of the U.S., offering customers the opportunity to travel to Central America Central America, narrow, southernmost region (c.202,200 sq mi/523,698 sq km) of North America, linked to South America at Colombia. Itineraries

The first flight to Boston, LACSA/TACA 680, will take place on Thursday, June 27, and from Boston (Logan Airport), LACSA/TACA 681, on Friday, June 28. The flight Costa Rica-El Salvador-Boston will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The flight Boston-El Salvador-Costa Rica will operate on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. With this new route, operated with aircrafts Airbus-319, GRUPO TACA wants to meet market demand and to expand its gateways out of the United States.
