Computer Retail Week's report states that Tim Errington, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Sony Information Technologies of America (a division of Sony Electronics) said the direct sales effort was still in the planning stages and declined to give final details. But, notes Computer Retail Week, in accordance with Sony's own minimum advertised pricing program, the company has no plans to sell products at prices other than estimated retail pricing. The Computer Retail Week report also includes specs on Sony's new notebooks, the PCG-705 and PCG-707 (which will boast 150MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. A one-megahertz clock (1 MHz) means some number of bits (16, 32, 64, etc. and 166MHz Pentiums, respectively). Each will weigh less than five pounds and be 1.5-inches thick. Both come with a 12.1-inch TFT (Thin Film Transistor) The term typically refers to active matrix screens on laptop computers.
