"With the Arula Product Suite, businesses that have a large number of network devices now have a simple and easy way to manage all of those devices from one centralized cen·tral·ize

"With the Arula Product Suite, IT managers, MSPs and large data center environments can now offer better service levels and greater network availability while deploying fewer IT resources."

The Arula Product Suite

Four products make up the Arula Product Suite. The products can be deployed in any combination, to meet the needs of any sized network.
-- Arula SecureConsole -- allows any IT manager to plug a device into it via
the serial port, and then securely manage it from his base of operations.
SecureConsole provides remote console access as well as multi-user
capabilities. All of the functionality is built on an extensible thin micro-Web
server platform. SecureConsole is available immediately.

-- Arula SecureConsoleSSL -- adds Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption to the
SecureConsole appliance with up to 128-bit encryption. SecureConsoleSSL is
available immediately.

-- Arula Cerebus x8 -- provides the same level of security as the
SecureConsoleSSL, but is capable of managing up to eight devices in a rack
mountable 2U chassis. Cerebus x8 has been designed with the data center in
mind. Cerebus x8 is available immediately.

-- Arula ConsoleManager -- the newest addition to the Arula product suite,
ConsoleManager is a software solution that will monitor and manage a large
number of Arula devices deployed at the device level. Arula ConsoleManager
consolidates management of up to 250 "ports" (target devices managed by Arula
port-level solutions) into a single Graphical User Interface with one IP
address and one Access Control List (ACL). ConsoleManager will be available Q2
2001.

and Instantis. In addition, the Department of Defense is using Arula's SecureConsoleSSL with 128-bit encryption The reversible transformation of data from the original (the plaintext) to a difficult-to-interpret format (the ciphertext) as a mechanism for protecting its confidentiality, integrity and sometimes its authenticity. Encryption uses an encryption algorithm and one or more encryption keys. .

The Arula Universal Agent Platform

The Arula Product Suite is built on the Arula Universal Agent Platform.

Arula has taken a radically new approach to providing remote device management agents. Rather than providing individual agent platforms, Arula has developed a universal agent platform that enables companies to rapidly deploy agent solutions for any device in their remote offices. The Arula Universal Agent Platform contains all the common things any agent would need such as connectivity, logic, and security.

The Arula Universal Agent Platform thus enables development of hardware and software management solutions that allow any type of electronic device to be rapidly and securely controlled from any Web browser The program that serves as your front end to the Web on the Internet. In order to view a site, you type its address (URL) into the browser's Location field; for example, www.computerlanguage.com, and the home page of that site is downloaded to you. . It provides a robust environment for implementing strong security encryption, like Secure Socket Layer (SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) The leading security protocol on the Internet. Developed by Netscape, SSL is widely used to do two things: to validate the identity of a Web site and to create an encrypted connection for sending credit card and other personal data. ).

To develop a specific agent is then an easy task for Arula, any third-party, or the customer, because only the device-specific logic needs to be added. As a result, companies can easily extend the Arula Universal Agent Platform to any devices in a simple and economical way.
