independent study for their students ages twelve and older will find Artus Against the Demon of the Museum a welcome addition to their software library. In this challenging and engaging game, students must carefully investigate paintings while solving art mysteries.

The premise of Artus Against the Demon of the Museum is simple but effective. Artus, a young mouse who lives in an art museum with his parents, is left alone one stormy night. When a dreadful fiend enters the museum, Artus suddenly becomes the rescuer of masterworks. Because Artus has magical powers, he is able to travel into a parallel universe where characters in paintings come to life. Students, along with Artus, must solve mysteries to save the artwork.

Although the game is intended for older children, students younger than twelve who are proficient with interactive software will likely enjoy the game as well. This game is especially recommended as a tool for developing skills of art observation.
