THE Royal Opera House at Covent Garden Covent Garden (kŭv`ənt), area in London historically containing the city's principal fruit and garden market and the Royal Opera House.  is to bring music to the masses by broadcasting its performances live on big screens in Liverpool.

Live performances from the ROH ROH Alcohol (chemistry)
ROH Royal Opera House
ROH Ring of Honor (wrestling organization)
ROH Run of the House (hospitality industry)
ROH Royal Ottawa Hospital
 and the Royal Ballet will be relayed on a giant outdoor screens at thePier Head The free events are part of an an initiative to reach people who have never seen opera or ballet before.

``We are working to engage the enthusiasm of a new generation and to entice more socially diverse audiences through our doors.

``Widening access to the Royal Opera House is a daunting task, but it is essential to our future success and to our nation's artistic heritage,'' said ROH executive director Tony Hall.

The first outdoor performances will be Manon by the Royal Ballet on May 26.

Sir Bob Scott,leader of the bid to become Capital of Culture, said: ``I'm delighted that we are working with the RoyalOperaHouse to host this innovative and exciting adventure. It will create a magical experience for all those whoattend.''
