LIVERPOOL'S Open Eye Gallery continues its cutting edge imagery with an exhibition of photographs from Afghanistan.

Now they display pictures from the other end of the terrorism spectrum. Photographer Simon Norfolk has an exhibition which charts the changing landscape of Afghanistan after 20 years of war.

The folio captures permanent scars suffered from the time of the Soviet invasion of the 1980s, through to the rise and fall of the Tali-ban, to the present US led war on terrorism Terrorist acts and the threat of Terrorism have occupied the various law enforcement agencies in the U.S. government for many years. The Anti-Terrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act of 1996, as amended by the usa patriot act .

Norfolk says that the ravages of conflict have reduced Afghanistan to ``an almost Biblical wasteland''.
