Born on 12th January 1971 and brought up in Essex, Jones started her professional career in the newsroom of Buckinghamshire based local radio station Mix 96 in 1994. HE may have been taken from the world half a century ago, but there appears to be no let up in the appeal of everyone's favourite specs wearer Buddy Holly. Last month Buddy fans bopped in their seats at the Empire. Now Wirral producer David Crosby is returning to the Philharmonic Hall to reprise re·prise n. 1. Music a. A repetition of a phrase or verse. b. A return to an original theme. 2. A recurrence or resumption of an action. tr.v. the show which got them rocking at the Hope Street venue last year. The Undertakers, Karl Terry and the Cruisers, Lee Curtis, Jade Gallagher, Ian Prowse and Beryl Marsden are among those paying tribute to Holly next weekend. The show will be compered by Billy Butler. David, who organised an event last year to mark 50 years since Holly played in Liverpool, says: "We're hoping to make this an annual thing. I wasn't sure whether to do it again or not at first, but people seemed keen. "I think Buddy Holly gets more popular as the years go by and his songs have lasted." Proceeds will go towards a new Buddy Holly scholarship for a singer/songwriter at Lipa, and two of the institute's graduates - Andrew Coleman and Jessica McFarland - will perform on the evening.
