The group of 40 young people have worked alongside professional artists and launched an exhibition showcasing their work, as part of the Gallery 37 project. They converted the empty units at the Pavillions Shopping Centre into two studios, learning a range of skills and gaining qualifications. Coun Martin Mullaney, cabinet member for leisure, sport & culture, said: "Gallery 37 is an exciting and innovative initiative that gives young people the chance to reach their full creative potential." Sarah Jenkinson, Pavillions marketing manager, said: "With our ideal location here in the city centre, we hope visitors will see the positive impact of involvement in arts for young people in Birmingham.
