Artistic way of going to pot for springtime.


WHY not welcome in the spring by making a container pot for your early plants?

Full-time ceramic artist Sarah McDade is running a one-day workshop on how to make terracotta garden pots on Saturday, February 2 at Radiant Works, William Street William Street may refer to:

, Huddersfield, from 10am to 3.30pm.

People will be shown how to make their own pots by hand, using the traditional coiling method. Decorative elements may be modelled or sculpted sculpt  
v. sculpt·ed, sculpt·ing, sculpts

v.tr.
1. To sculpture (an object).

2. To shape, mold, or fashion especially with artistry or precision:
 on to the surface of the pot. The completed pots will be fired and returned to their makers to collect.

The fee for the day is pounds 40 including materials, lunch and refreshments re·fresh·ment

Sarah is also running another of her popular 'head-making' days on Saturday, March 1, also at Radiant Works.

The workshop runs from 10am to 3.30pm. People will be shown how to model and sculpt sculpt

 a ceramic head and adding features, hair and clothing. They will also be given advice on painting their finished pieces at home.

The finished work will be fired and returned for potters' collection.

Sarah's work has been exhibited throughout the UK in craft shops and galleries and she is based in Hebden Bridge, where she shares a studio with other artists.
