Support for new Intel(R) hardware will nearly triple the user

capacity for TeleVantage

Artisoft(R), Inc. (NASDAQ: ASFT), developer of the first software-based phone system, today announced that they are collaborating with Intel to integrate Artisoft's award-winning TeleVantage(R) software with Intel's recently announced new generation of telephony hardware. This integration project will greatly extend the range of customers that TeleVantage can support, opening up new market segment opportunities for both companies. On the high end, TeleVantage will support over 750 users in a single computing platform, nearly three times its current capacity. On the low end, it will provide a cost effective solution that meets the budgetary needs of organizations with fewer than eight employees. Artisoft expects to begin shipping this new release in late 2002.

Intel's new family of hardware includes a broad range of network and station interfaces, including several boards for high-density solutions that are shipping today. The Intel Dialogic(R) series of PCI boards includes support for up to 4 T1/E1 trunk spans on a single board and Intel's High Density Station Interface provides up to 120 station ports on a single board with a rack-mount or tabletop interface box. Multiple boards can connect via the industry standard H.100 bus, greatly increasing the capacity of a TeleVantage system.

TeleVantage will also support Intel's new DI series of boards, designed specifically for small to medium enterprise switching applications. For example, the Intel Dialogic DI/0408LS-A board combines support for four analog trunks and eight stations, allowing a complete TeleVantage system to run on a single board, thereby lowering the customer's cost of deploying and expanding their system. Support for these boards will enhance the already strong appeal of Artisoft's TeleVantage Small Office Edition, which is targeted for organizations with eight or fewer employees.
