SANTA CLARA, Calif. & CAMBRIDGE, England -- Artimi Inc., the single chip Ultra Wideband (UWB) semiconductor company developing low power WiMedia-based complete systems solutions for Certified Wireless USB and Bluetooth applications, announced Martin Jackson has joined as senior vice president of engineering. A leading technologist and former chief technical officer of GlobespanVirata and Frontier Silicon, Jackson brings significant technical and management experience of the fabless semiconductor industry to further establish Artimi as a UWB market leader.

Jackson has more than 20 years of executive and technical management experience in the communications and semiconductor industries. Jackson was most recently chief technology officer at Frontier Silicon, a fabless semiconductor company which pioneered digital broadcasting and achieved 70% market share. Previous to Frontier Silicon, Jackson was chief technology officer of leading ADSL semiconductor company GlobespanVirata Inc, which later merged into Conexant Corp. Jackson was chief technology officer from the company's start-up days as Virata, to its subsequent flotation on the NASDAQ in 1999 and merger with Globespan in 2001. Jackson has co-founded four start-ups, sits on Newnham Research's Board of Directors and is an active business angel.

Jackson holds a first class honours degree with distinction in electronic engineering from Cambridge University.
