Arthur S. Duxbury, 83.


BENNINGTON, VT Arthur S. Duxbury, 83, formerly of Cotuit and Dalton, MA, died peacefully Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at The Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington where he had recently relocated from Pittsfield (MA). Mr. Duxbury was born in Cohasset, MA on July 16, 1926, the son of Thomas and Gertrude May (Holland) Duxbury. He grew up in Hingham and enlisted in the Coast Guard during World War II , serving from 1943 until 1946. He loved driving and had been a truck driver for Wajer's Express in Webster for 40 years, following retirement he worked as a limousine driver on Cape Cod Cape Cod, narrow peninsula of glacial origin, 399 sq mi (1,033 sq km), SE Mass., extending 65 mi (105 km) E and N into the Atlantic Ocean. It is generally flat, with sand dunes, low hills, and numerous lakes. . He loved music and sang in the church choir most of his life, most recently in the Cotuit Federated Church, he enjoyed watching football, especially the New England Patriots Editing of this page by unregistered or newly registered users is currently disabled until (UTC) due to vandalism. . . He was a member of the NRA NRA

Mr. Duxbury leaves a son, Thomas Duxbury of Mendon, VT; daughters: Marcia Arango of Webster, MA, Judith Ladd of Dalton, MA and Gail Smith of Pittsburgh, Texas; sister Anna Desroches of Weymouth, MA; nine grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Kitty Duxbury in 2005 and sister, Ruth Burrell.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 14 at 11 a.m at the Cotuit (MA) Federated Church. A memorial reception will follow in the church hall.
