 Bank and Trust announced today that Arthur P. Swanson has been named executive vice president for SCBT's Charleston Region.

Swanson comes to SCBT from Carolina First where he was the executive vice president in charge of the Charleston Market from 2000-2006.

Swanson was also a founding Director of the Bank of Charleston from 1990-1998 when the company sold to Anchor Bank. At Bank of Charleston, he served as executive vice president and later president and CEO. Through merger, Swanson then served as director and executive vice president for Anchor Bank for the years 1998-2000.

With over thirty years of banking experience, Swanson has served as a director of the South Carolina Bankers Association as well as a director of the Independent Banks of South Carolina. Additionally, during that time he also served in numerous volunteer positions in the Charleston community.
