This book reviews current research and recent advances in the use of magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasonography, computer tomography, and nuclear and molecular imaging for the diagnosis and treatment of arthritis, especially rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. The first section of the book focuses on the clinical state of the art, emphasizing methods that are currently available and in routine use throughout the world. The second section looks at new and experimental methods and imaging strategies, including molecular imaging research. The art program features about 600 images and illustrations, with 300 in color, depicting imaging results as well as examples of pathology. The book is intended as a resource for diagnostic radiologists, rheumatologists, and other specialists. Bruno is associate professor of radiology and medicine at Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine.
