Artes Medical Announces Exercise of Over-Allotment Option and Closing of Initial Public Offering.

SAN DIEGO -- Artes Medical, Inc. (Nasdaq: ARTE) announced today that the underwriters of the Company's recent initial public offering of its common stock exercised in full their over-allotment option to purchase from the Company an additional 690,000 shares of the Company's common stock at a price of $6.00 per share, before deducting underwriting discounts and commissions. The option was granted in connection with the Company's initial public offering of 4,600,000 shares. The closing of the sale of all 5,290,000 shares by the Company to the underwriters occurred earlier today.

Cowen and Company, LLC and Lazard Capital Markets LLC acted as joint book-running managers for the offering, and Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, Incorporated acted as a co-manager for the offering.
