Arter closes. (Law).

Arter & Hadden LLP, the Cleveland-based law firm whose profits and revenues declined substantially in the past few years, ceased operations July 15.

Several of the firm's 37 L.A. attorneys had already left, including seven who joined Lord Bissell & Brook.

About 16 Arter & Hadden attorneys, including managing partner Bart Kessel, will remain at 725 S. Figueroa St., however, as the L.A. office of Tucker Ellis & West, a new firm formed by 100 former Arter & Hadden attorneys on July 16.
