Artel Video Systems announces monitor capability in MegaLink digital video transport; Features roll outs continue in the popular 270 mb/s SDI fiber transport.


MARLBOROUGH, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 28, 1996--Artel Video Systems Inc. continues to maintain its lead in the emerging 270 mb/s serial digital transport market by adding a transparent signal monitor to the MegaLink 1290 series of fiber transport products. This new feature adds isolated test points to MegaLink transmitters, receivers, and repeater/regenerators for technical quality assessment of the 270 mb/s serial digital signal, without interrupting the transmission path at terminal and repeater (1) A communications device that amplifies (analog) or regenerates (digital) the data signal in order to extend the transmission distance. The MegaLink 270 mb/s 4:2:2 non-compressed SDI (1) (Serial Digital Interface) A physical interface widely used for transmitting digital video in various formats.
