digital television service projects to be rolled out worldwide

Pronounced "em-peg," it is the universal standard for digital terrestrial, cable and satellite TV, DVDs and digital video recorders (DVRs).  switching technology to the broadband video services market. With a clear focus on enhancing the digital television experience, the combination of the two companies' solutions will give cable TV and telecommunications video service providers an advantage in the transport and delivery of digital entertainment services. This solution enables legacy video distribution networks to incorporate the latest in digital video multiplexing technology.

The pairing of Artel's VideoStorm(TM) MPEG switching technology with VideoTele.com's digital head-end suite will enable video service providers to transport digital television over standardized packet-based networks. This breakthrough in digital television transport technology is made possible through Artel's VideoStorm(TM) advanced MPEG switching technology. The partnership will ultimately benefit video service subscribers with enhanced television Enhanced Television (ETV) is a collection of specifications developed under the OpenCable project of CableLabs (Cable Television Laboratories, Inc.) that define an ETV Application consisting of resources (files) adhering to the Enhanced TV Binary Interchange Format (EBIF) content  services such as video-on-demand and interactive TV.
