ArtServe Michigan Receives Grants for Speakers' Bureau Program and Services Department.


SOUTHFIELD Southfield, city (1990 pop. 75,728), Oakland co., SE Mich., a suburb of Detroit, on the Rouge River; laid out 1817, inc. as a city 1958.  has provided $7,000 to support the overall services department. These grants follow ArtServe's successful and ongoing services programs for artists and arts and cultural organizations, which include a fiscal sponsorship program, health insurance, speakers' bureau and the Business of Being An Artist Workshops (BBAW BBAW Berlin-Brandenburgische Akademie der Wissenschaften (German) ).

"Artists and arts and cultural organizations have made clear to us their desire for services and training focused on their particular needs," says Barbara Kratchman, president of ArtServe. "And the need for artists and arts and cultural organizations to have opportunities for professional development, support services support services Psychology Non-health care-related ancillary services–eg, transportation, financial aid, support groups, homemaker services, respite services, and other services  and health insurance is growing all the time."
