 and Kevin Saunderson Kevin Saunderson (born in Brooklyn, New York on May 9 1964) is an American electronic music producer. At the age of nine he moved to Detroit, Michigan, where he attended Belleville High School and befriended two students, Derrick May and Juan Atkins. . Juan, Derrick and Kevin are receiving the award because of their achievements in techno music.

The trio will receive the prestigious award along with 8 other award recipients on Thursday, November 18 at The Henry Ford in Dearborn. The other awards categories and recipients are:

--Cultural Organizations - Blissfest Music Organization, City of Marquette Arts & Culture Department and the Grand Rapids Grand Rapids, city (1990 pop. 189,126), seat of Kent co., SW central Mich., on the Grand River; inc. 1850.
