ArtServe Launches Business of Being an Artist Summer Workshop Series.SOUTHFIELD, Mich. -- ArtServe Michigan (ASM (1) (Association for Systems Management) An international membership organization based in Cleveland, Ohio. Founded in 1947 and disbanded in 1996, it sponsored conferences in all phases of administrative systems and management. ) will hold a series of workshops this summer to meet the needs of artists, art students and arts and cultural organizations. ArtServe's newly launched Business of Being An Artist Workshop series will focus on core issues such as copyright basics, business incorporation and utilizing the Web. The upcoming workshops, which are art specific, will focus on topics that are targeted to artists, arts and cultural organizations, art students or anyone else interested in growing their art business. Service Programs' Director Kim Dabbs said the Business of Being An Artist Workshops will differ from other program offerings in regards to both frequency and format. She said the workshops will enhance ASM's current Service Program lineup by providing a channel for artists, arts and cultural organizations and art students to gain practical tools for starting and growing their business.
