Art show takes over empty storefronts in Downtown Brooklyn.


A temporary art show organized by the MetroTech Business Improvement District will take over 12 empty storefronts on Willoughby Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn where construction was supposed to begin on a $208 million residential and commercial complex. Due to the bad economic climate, construction on the complex was halted and the stores were left vacant. Developer Albert Laboz did not say when the complex would be built, but in the meantime Adv. 1. in the meantime - during the intervening time; "meanwhile I will not think about the problem"; "meantime he was attentive to his other interests"; "in the meantime the police were notified"
