Art of visiting town's history.


Faces from the past are captured in a work of art now permanently housed at Middlesbrough Town Hall.

 is a work by digital artist Mark Heywood. It is made up of 150 plates each bearing an image of two photographs blended together of people from Middlesbrough's past.

The work was to mark the 150th anniversary of the granting of Middlesbrough's Charter of Incorporation in 1853.

The plates have been displayed in the past in the Dorman Museum Dorman Museum is a general museum located in Middlesbrough within the borough of Middlesbrough and the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire, England. From its establishment in 1904 initial thematical leanings were towards the natural sciences, although galleries of the local  but now they have a permanent home in the Plate Room in Middlesbrough Town Hall.

Work is under way to develop opportunities for more public viewings of the work.

Local historian Ian Stubbs said the granting of the charter to Middlesbrough was an important watershed watershed, elevation or divide separating the catchment area, or drainage basin, of one river system or group of river systems from another system or group of systems. The term is also often used synonymously with drainage basin.  in the town's history.

"From January 1, 1853, people became the power in the town and could elect their own town council," he said.
