Art competition on Ideal Environment today?

ISLAMABAD, 06 April , 2009 (Balochistan Times) -- Pakistan Museum of Natural History (PMNH), will hold a Drawing and Art Poster Competition on Ideal Environment among school children in connection with celebrations of national year of Environment 2009 here on April 7. PMNH is a subsidiary of Pakistan Science Foundation while the event is being organized in collaboration with Intel Pakistan. Chairman Pakistan Science foundation, Dr. Syed Azhar Hasan will inaugurate the competition and the artworks will be exhibited at PMNH for Public viewing. A jury comprising artists and environmentalists will adjudge the first, second and third position holders, who will be awarded cash prizes amounting to Rs. 5,000, Rs. 3000 and Rs. 2000 respectively in a prize distribution ceremony to be organized later on, said PMNH acting Director General Dr. Manzoor H. Soomro in a press statement here Monday. He said all the participating students will be awarded participation certificates and will be given special caps. He said that the PMNH has invited students between 9 to 15 years of age from all the educational institutions of the twin cities for participation. The event is aimed at creating awareness of environmental problems among the students and make them active partners in the efforts for protection and conservation of the environment, he added.
