Art Wigand named president, CEO of Cubic Communications.


SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 1, 1996--Art Wigand Wigand may refer to:

), has been named president and chief executive officer, the company announced Tuesday.

CCI is a subsidiary of San Diego-based Cubic Corp.

Wigand, 52, replaces Sam (1) (Security Accounts Manager) The part of Windows NT that manages the database of usernames, passwords and permissions. A SAM resides in each server as well as in each domain controller. See PDC and trust relationship.  Arn, 74, who retires as president after a long and distinguished career with Cubic. Arn will continue to serve as chairman of the CCI board of directors.

Wigand has been vice president of CCI since October 1995. He was responsible for the marketing and production of the Ocean Applied Research (OAR) direction-finding product line that Cubic acquired last year.

Previously, he was vice president and general manager of OAR Corp., also of San Diego San Diego (săn dēā`gō), city (1990 pop. 1,110,549), seat of San Diego co., S Calif., on San Diego Bay; inc. 1850. San Diego includes the unincorporated communities of La Jolla and Spring Valley. Coronado is across the bay. . Wigand joined OAR in 1974 as vice president of operations, where he was responsible for development and production operations for products for the U.S. Navy. When OAR was acquired by Compudyne Air Traffic Control in 1984, Wigand continued to serve as Compudyne's vice president of operations.

Wigand received his bachelor's degree in mathematics from San Diego State University San Diego State University (SDSU), founded in 1897 as San Diego Normal School, is the largest and oldest higher education facility in the greater San Diego area (generally the City and County of San Diego), and is part of the California State University system. . He and his wife, Leona, have two grown children.
