Mr. Walters is responsible for technology management activities for John Hancock and its subsidiaries. In this capacity, he oversees a budget of over $200 million and 1,300 technology professionals. He is credited with linking Hancock's business strategy with IT direction and application development as well as managing all IT services such as computing, networking and e-commerce capabilities. Prior to Hancock, Walters held positions with Citibank, Bankers Trust and Marine Midland Bank Marine Midland Bank was a bank formerly headquartered in Buffalo with several hundred branches throughout the state of New York. The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation acquired a 51% shareholding in Marine Midland Bank in 1980 and extended to full ownership in 1987. . He is also a board member for the Essex Corporation.

Ms. Swersky is a current board member of Investors Financial Services Corp., Circles (Life Concierge.com) Inc., Berkshire Life Insurance Company and the Northeastern University Board of Overseers, as well as a former board member of Massachusetts Technology Development Corporation for nine years.
