"A Guide for Teachers & Parents," is intended to provide a framework for teaching art that is integrated with regular classroom activity. Beginning with concise attempts at defining art and rationales for the importance of teaching art, the author provides an omnibus omnibus: see bus.  of engaging art activities in a variety of media. A sound review of art education theory concerning developmental stages in art sets a framework for age-appropriate activities. A series of interesting ideas and subjects for drawing experiences enables the author to stress the basic elements of drawing, varied drawing media, and recommended strategies. Several hundred black-and-white illustrations of children's artwork and of children creating art, plus an eight-page, full-color insert, contribute to a very visual resource book for art and classroom teachers, grades K-7.
