who eagerly waits in the pet shop for someone to take him home. He has his sights set on Mademoiselle Madeleine Madeleine (măd`əlĭn, Fr. mädlĕn`) [Fr.,=Magdalen, i.e., Mary Magdalen], large church of Paris, in the Place de la Madeleine. It was originally planned by J. A. , the seamstress from the costume shop next door. Fanny's illustrations colorfully convey Doggie's creativity as he sews animal costumes that he can wear in the pet shop window. Doggie's dream finally does come true, as Mademoiselle Madeleine notices him and hires him to become her costume designer. Doggie and Mademoiselle Madeleine make a fabulous team, proving that dreams--even big dreams--can come true. Ages 3+.
