Arroyo Appoints Dr. John Pickens to Vice President of Technology and Tom Foster to Vice President of National Accounts; Appointments Valuable as Company Adds Customers and Rapidly Expands North American Cable Deployments.


PLEASANTON, Calif. -- Arroyo Video Solutions, Inc., which recently unveiled its first product, Arroyo OnDemand - an open standards solution for video on demand (VOD See video-on-demand.

) which delivers industry leading "Always ON" scalability, - today announced the recent appointments of Dr. John Pickens to vice president of technology, and Tom Foster to vice president of national accounts. Dr. Pickens will take the lead in the development of Arroyo's streaming media technologies, while Foster will drive strategy and relationships within North American cable.

Prior to joining Arroyo, Foster was vice president of engineering for Time Warner Cable in Rochester, N.Y., where he managed the planning, testing and roll out of advanced services such as digital cable, video on demand (VOD) and high-speed data. He was previously vice president of network services, engineering and local programming for Time Warner Communications in Rochester, N.Y. Before joining Time Warner, Foster held various senior management positions at Scripps Howard Cable in Sacramento, Calif., Greater Rochester Cablevision in Rochester, N.Y. and American Cablevision in Indianapolis, Ind.

Foster received his bachelor's degree in management from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, N.Y. He is an active member of the SCTE, and was past president of the Upstate New York Upstate New York is the region of New York State north of the core of the New York metropolitan area.
