Arrow shoots straight and true.
The Arrow weapon system being developed by IAI MLM, IAI Elta,
Tadiran Systems and Rafael recently completed another successful test,
this to examine the missile's interception envelope and test an
integration operational configuration with two missile batteries
engaging the target from different locations. This event marked the
first night-time test in this series thus far and is a part of the Arrow
System Improvement Program being carried out by Israel and the US. In
addition to being the 14th successful Arrow 2 test (out of 15 carried
out so far), it also was the first of the Arrow 2 M4 Block 3 developed
by IAI and Boeing (remember that IAI is now Israel Aerospace
Industries). As in earlier tests, the target was a Rafael Black Shadow
launched by an F-15I which, upon launch, flew above the atmosphere and
descended to mimic a Shahab attack profile, and as usual tracking was
effected by Green Pine radars. The attack was head-on.
