Arrow Exterminators Profits and Customer Satisfaction Soar Thanks to New Termite Treatment.

Business Editors

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 30, 2003

As companies throughout the country struggle to regain their economic momentum, Atlanta-based Arrow Exterminators(R) continues to enjoy a booming bottom line.

Their unlikely secret? Termites, and the leading professionally applied termiticide treatment on the market, Termidor(R).

operators by Pest Control Technology Magazine, Arrow Exterminators owes about 60 percent of their revenues to termite termite or white ant, common name for a soft-bodied social insect of the order Isoptera. Termites are easily distinguished from ants by comparison of the base of the abdomen, which is broadly joined to the thorax in termites; in ants, there is  related work through their 41 offices in 5 states. But while exorbitant repair costs and ineffective treatment products forced many of its competitors to drop out of the termite business years ago, Arrow was securing its future.

In 2000, based on the outstanding performance of the Termidor liquid treatment that provides 100% control of termites in 3 months or less, Arrow's Alpharetta, GA office made the switch exclusively to Termidor for their liquid termite treatments. Since then, the branch has watched its repair costs decline 25 percent, with revenues rising 267 percent.

"25 percent ...that's a huge number, a savings of about $200,000 from a $5 million branch," says John Millican, Claims Director for Arrow Exterminators. Adds Rick Bell, VP of Arrow Technical Services, "With Termidor, we actually have guys going out to houses feeling like they're able to win again."

The trend is catching on throughout the organization as well, with Arrow's 12 largest branches reducing repair claims by 15% in the 2002 fiscal year, saving almost a half a million dollars.

The dramatic decrease in repairs has no doubt impressed clients, and the good news is spreading: On May 22, 2003, Arrow announced that it had received its 2nd consecutive Consumers' Choice Award for excellence in Customer Satisfaction in Atlanta, GA.
