Arrow Electronics to Expand OEM Telecom Business with New TL 9000 Certification.

The Arrow/Wyle Division of Arrow Electronics, Inc. (NYSE:ARW) announced today that its integration center in Phoenix has completed a quality systems audit performed by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. and is now TL 9000 certified. Obtaining the TL 9000 registration is one of several strategic steps Arrow is taking to grow its integration and logistics business in the telecommunications sector.

Created by the Quality Excellence for Suppliers of Telecommunications (QuEST)) Leadership Forum, the TL 9000 is a worldwide standard that establishes a common set of quality system requirements for suppliers of telecommunication systems in hardware, software and services. TL 9000 is based on the ISO 9000 and Bell standards for Quality Management Systems, which assure telecommunications customers that Arrow is committed to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

Arrow is the only distributor in North America with the TL 9000 registration, and is one of the 20 percent of ISO companies who have upgraded to the 2000 standards as opposed to remaining at 1994 standards.
