Arrow Electronics Signs Agreement to Distribute Broadcom's Broadband Silicon Products; Pact Spells Out Joint Effort in North and South America.

Arrow Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: ARW), the world's largest distributor of electronic components and computer products, announced today that it has signed a franchise agreement with Broadcom Corporation (NASDAQ: BRCM).

Based in Irvine, California, Broadcom is the leading provider of integrated circuits enabling broadband communications. The agreement, which went into effect on February 1, 2001, covers distribution of Broadcom's products in North and South America.

Arrow Electronics brings Broadcom customers the highest level of design engineering and technical support. The relationship also increases Broadcom's exposure to Arrow's large customer base of networking and broadband communications equipment manufacturers.

Broadcom's products will be sold by all appropriate Arrow North American Components sales groups but targeted within the Arrow/Wyle Communications Group, which is focused on networking and communications customers in 18 North American markets.
